At the beginning of the year, AdGear started an Agile transformation. As part of this transformation, we promote transparency, continuous delivery and encourage flexibility to change. In your role, you will be promoting these values across our organization and will be responsible for continuing this transformation within the Montreal office in addition to contributing to the success of the Agile Transformation within our Mountain View, California office.
What you'll do
Effectively participate and influence the transformation across the Montreal organization to enable the agile initiative continuity. This role requires problem-solving, logical reasoning and collaborating with others, while also holding them accountable to high standards.
Oversee the governance and the execution of the organization’s agile transformation.
Able to prepare a large scale transformation plan within the organization.
Evaluate the size of the change and who will be impacted in order to develop a strategy for change management.
Identify and track organizational challenges to help remove impediments.
Manage reporting and metrics to track enablement and benefits.
Lead the organization’s Agile Community of Practice
Collaborate with the Mountain View office in order to ensure a common Agile approach across both offices.
Key member of the Mountain View transformation through leadership and coaching.
You will be responsible for managing the team of Scrum Masters through mentoring and guidance. You will help develop a collaborative and creative team that focuses on quality and velocity. You are a results-oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the team based on trust, teamwork and knowledge.
Hiring and training of direct reports.
Establishing tight communication: regular and frequent feedback processes with team members, and guiding, actively listening, and working with them individually on their specific needs (1-on-1 meetings).
Knowledgeable with the ability to help define and improve Agile techniques (teams kickoff, backlog refinement, estimation technique, epic/story mapping and creation).
Working with the Engineering Chief of Staff in setting yearly performance objectives for each team member, following up on these objectives and participating in the yearly evaluations.
At the beginning, you will be playing the role of Scrum Master for a scrum team.
Act as a coach and ensure best practices, mentors Scrum Masters as well as foster a culture of servant-leadership.
Ensure all activities use the principles of the Scrum Framework.
Participate in coaching activities across cross-functional teams on Agile practices and principles.
Assist in Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews and Retrospectives to support Scrum Master..
Required skills and/or experience
Experience as a Senior Scrum Master and Agile Coach
Experience in participating in a large scale Agile Transformation
Strong leadership, time management, and problem solving skills with the ability to influence and lead others.
Excellent mentoring, coaching and team building skills.
Good knowledge of facilitation and conflict resolution.
Experience with the fundamentals of servant leadership by serving their own team members before serving themselves.
Strong attention to detail
University degree or equivalent work experience
Certified Scrum Master
Previous experience as a Manager
Expertise in working with Agile tools with an emphasis on JIRA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
